little boy, big personality

When I watch him walk run around, especially from a distance, I can't help but think that Tommy is such a little fellow. Especially when he starts climbing things that ought to be too big, or walking off the slide (which has happened a number of times), or feeding himself, I'm just struck by how he's too little to be acting so big.

But then I look at old pictures and videos, and I'm like, "Wow. This kid is huge, and he's growing at an alarming rate." I mean, his face isn't nearly as spherical as it was even at Christmas time, his legs are much less chunky than they used to be, and he's lost nearly all of his babyisms.

You get the picture; this kid is growing like a weed. And he's always going a zillion miles an hour. He makes me feel exhausted.

But as tiring as the days are (and let's not forget the nights, because Thomas hates sleeping through the night), I just love that we're in each other's lives. I love that I get to be his momma, and that I get this wonderful opportunity to watch him grow into this wonderful, sweet little boy, to be his teacher and his biggest cheerleader. I'm all verklempt just thinking about how lucky I am to be Tom's mom.

Anyway. He's a rad little fellow, and I'm excited to see what he becomes. I'm sure he'll be all grown up before I even know it.
