Goose and me...

June 30, 2007

So I was looking through my camera just now and saw I had some pics saved on internal memory. What I found is quite a treasure, I must say...I remember Goose and I taking these "self portait" shots just to give us something to do when I went home for a visit.

First off all, this a picture of my owie I got from a
wicked, crazy slide playing softball this past summer.
OUCH!

Somehow, Goose has the ablity to make me feel teeny!

These next few are us pulling faces...

"Angry face"

This one is supposed to be "Tired"
but I think it looks more like "Stoned" or something...

"Excited"

"Surprised"

"Scared"

"Sad"

"Be You!"

There are more. But I'm not gonna put 'em all on here. I probably shouldn't have put all these bad boys on there. But I think Goose will like checkin' out my blog and seeing a bunch of pictures of himself. (It's all for you, Goose!)

Who is taller?

So this past weekend I also met up with my IF friends in SLC for lunch and to hang out for a little while. My bruddah Goose came with, which was excellent fun. After a tasty lunch at Rubio's we headed to the SNIAGRAB thingy. Goose started teasing Lisa about being short, and at this point she stepped onto a bench so she could be taller. And I'll give her that...she was taller than Goose when she stood on the bench. She started gettin' cocky though...said she was at least 3 inches taller than him. I'd say 2 inches is more accurate, and I'm being liberal.

Also, I took a couple of pictures, because it just looked funny. :) Try and tell me otherwise...

Goose is the one on the left...
Lisa is actually looking down and smirking at him!
Just because she's about 6'9"...

Goose in all his...ah...glory...
beside the wee (but AMAZING!) Lisa.

Brigham City

This past weekend I went home to visit the family and to help babysit my cute little nephews. I headed home Friday just before noon. Got home in time to get in a minor accident with my father. (I'm aware that sounds much worse than it actually was...if you want to know, go ahead and ask.) Went to Farmington to visit Aaron and Amy for a bit and to take their children away for the weekend. Spent some time with Vance and Abby that night; Vance hooked me up with some excellent music (NICE!). Anyway...I took tons of pictures of the boys this weekend; here are a few.

Sethington in his car seat.
Isn't he gorgeous?!

Here's Jackson on the ride from Farmington to Brigham...
He, too, is a handsome devil.

Both boys fell asleep on the way to Brigham City.

Tub time!
Jackson had fun playing with little cups and the faucet.
He looks so much like Aaron when he was young...

Seth being cute and wet...

Jackson rockin' out on Gramma's rocking chair.
(He LOVES this thing.)

Breakfasting.
Jackson is all about chocolate muffins lately.
Not sure what Seth's doing, but it's cute.

Seth likes to walk around holding onto your fingers...
He's gonna be walking on his own before you know it.
Then we'll have to chase 2 little boys around...

Sittin' on Uncle Goose.
They both liked it...

Seth likes to dance. Saturday night he was a dancing fool...
and then he got shy and stopped when I busted out the camera.
I caught a teeny bit of it though...

So basically, I love being an aunt! It was fun playing with the boys all weekend. Mostly Mom was there too, and I was the "helper girl." But Saturday evening she and Dad went to stake conference so it was just me and the boys. (Technically Goose was home, but he was downstairs for most of the time). So...I took on the challenge of bathing both boys at once. This is difficult stuff! Seth was bawling the whole time, so I took him out pretty quick and got him all dressed. Jackson is ALWAYS a happy boy if he's anywhere near water, so I kept the door open and kept checking on him. When Seth was in his jammies, I took another look in the bathroom and saw that Jackson was turning it into a swamp or something...so I put Seth down and ended Jackson's tub party rather abruptly. Seth, at this point, was ready for love and affection...and a bottle...so he sat on the floor and bawled while I got Jackson dressed. (It nearly broke my heart!) I had some music playing in the background; when "Queen of Hearts" started to play, Seth stopped bawling for a few seconds and listened. And then he started to dance and bawl simultaneously. It was the cutest, most pathetic thing I've ever seen. Anyway...the evening went on from there. Once I got Jackson dressed, I was able to feed Seth his bottle, at which point he got all cuddly and cute. And Jackson got destructive. My parents' house is not necessarily child-proof, so at this point in the evening, I yelled downstairs and woke Goose up out of his sleepy stupor so I could take care of the accumulating mess. Oi. It really was an enjoyable night though! I love those boys to pieces!

soundtrack of my life...

If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be?

How to do it:
1. Open your music library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc).
2. Put it on Shuffle.
3. Press Play.
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button.
6. Be honest.

This is fun stuff!

Yellowstone

October 13, 2007

To help Lisa celebrate her birthday appropriately, we headed north to Island Park to stay the night in Cameron's cabin Friday night. ("We" includes: Lisa, Brooke, Gina, Kattie, Mathew, and Cameron). Then it was off to Yellowstone for most of Saturday. It was a good time; I think it was good enough for Lisa. (I know she wanted to be somewhere far away to really celebrate...but Yellowstone wasn't so bad!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LISA!
We decorated the cabin birthday-style
and ate some blue cake and ice cream.
(The cake, originally, was cute...but the top got mushed
and so we had to scrape the icing off the cake pan lid. BOO!)

Kattie and me at the birthday party!

Cameron made French toast the next morning...

He even shared!
Yum-o!

This is the whole group in front of Norris Geysers...

Tower Falls...

A large group of buffalo blocking the road.
There were a couple of angry males in this group...
One of 'em even snorted and hopped about.
(None of us knew a buffalo could move like that!)

Lunch time...
To me, it looks like Brookey's eating the banana just to eat it;
she can't really be enjoying it, can she?

I think this is down near the lower falls of Tower Falls...?

The red-hooded girls, "sleeping."

All of us...I want to say we're beside the upper falls.
Gina, Cameron, Brooke, Kattie, Lisa, Mathew

Aren't we SO cute?
Brooke, Gina, Lisa

We went down 328 stairs to get kinda near the bottom of some falls.
Feel the burn! (Especially going UP!)

Mathew went down the easy way...

Breath-taking, isn't it?
I HEART YELLOWSTONE!

Mm-kay...these are no longer in order,
and I can't remember where this was taken.

I think these are the lower falls...?

So yeah...it was a good time; it was a bit cold at times, but overall the weather was gorgeous, and we saw some beautiful sights! Yellowstone is pretty terrific!

Emotion Bowl...

October 12

If you look at an older post from September called "Welcome Home" you'll see that my roommate Lisa went to town in decorating my room in banana stuff. LOTS of it. So...I got the idea to "get her back." Lisa graduated from Idaho Falls High School, and every year they have something called the Emotion Bowl; the Idaho Falls Tigers and their rival (and arch enemy) the Skyline Grizzlies duke it out on the football field, which they actually share throughout the year. The winner gets to paint the goal posts their school colors for the entire year. It's a big deal that you can't fully grasp outside of Idaho Falls. Anyway...I was persuaded to get Lisa back by decorating her room in IF's rival's colors: blue and white. I've been planning it for weeks, and finally I got to put it all together this past Friday! It was so much fun; I don't know why I've avoided the whole "revenge" business for so long! (Actually, I know exactly why I avoid it; I'm not gonna turn this into a regular thing...unless Lisa keeps it going...in which case I've already got a friend to back me up with the brains of revenge; I'll just act it out). Anyway...here are some pictures of what I did to Lisa's room. Oh yeah...and her car. :) By the way, Lisa loved it; she laughed.
Lisa's west wall... I even involved her Gund bears... (I hear tiger meat is delicious) And maybe involving Nemo was a low blow... (Lisa loves Nemo. But I couldn't pass it up!) but that doesn't make it any less funny! Her computer desk... The Tiger fan in her extremely blue room...

Oh yeah...and her car.
I love that her car is Skyline blue!

As it turns out, IF won the game, for which I was grateful. (I was pulling for IF all along...just wanted to mess with her). The story continues, though...that night a small group of us went up to Island Park to stay the night and to help Lisa celebrate her birthday a couple of days early; I decorated the cake with white frosting, blue gel words, and blue football helmet sprinkles. Oh yeah, and we dyed the ice cream blue. (If the Tigers would've lost, this might've been one blow too many!) Oh well...IF won, and all is well.

General Conference...

Friday/Saturday, 5 & 6

October
Several people from the branch went up to Island Park to watch General Conference for the Saturday sessions. We headed up on Friday to party and stay the night in Cameron's family's cabins and it was great fun! We watched movies, played games, and visited. The next morning, we woke up to a tasty breakfast (made by Jamie, Chris and Kattie...thanks, girls!) and then we watched conference. Oh wait...I forgot to mention a very important factor: it snowed all night. We woke up to a heave blanket of wet snow. There was, of course, fun to be had in this early snowfall; I took some pictures of that as well. Anyway...during the first session of conference, there was a newsflash along the bottom of the TV screen, talking about dangerous road conditions...we were afraid we might have to stay another night...however, the roads weren't as bad as we had heard, and so we were able to head back to Idaho Falls following the afternoon session of Conference. It was a lovely time. Here are some pics:
Melanie, Gina, Briant, Brooke
watching Princess Bride.

Kattie lounging by the fire, trying desperately to get (and stay) warm.
Isn't she cute?

A Winter Wonderland...in early October!

Brooke and Lisa take on the incredible Kattie!

A few of the girls falling asleep during the first session...

Because things were up in the air and we weren't sure what was going to happen, Cameron said to me (jokingly, I think) that maybe I should write a poem about the situation. So I did. I wrote this poem between sessions of Saturday's conference. Kind of fun...

GENERAL CONFERENCE GETAWAY:
General Conference time is here--we're gathered in Island Park!
We arrived safely as the snow fell, and herald angels sang "Hark!"
We watched some flicks and played some games to pass our time Friday night...
Then off to bed we all did go...and woke up to a world of white!
Because of the snow that fell that night, we broke out Christmas tunes;
Snow in October is NOT okay--the happy music lightened the mood.
Breakfast was tasty as could be; THANKS, Jamie, Kattie and Chris!
'cept for the bananas--WHO needs those?! They're
something I'd rather miss.
This morning's session started up; we learned of the apostle brand new:
Welcome, Elder Quentin Cook, and Eyring's counselor number two.
The talks this morning were spiritual and focussed on being HAPPY.
(I'm working on tolerating the snow 'cause in October it makes me feel crappy.)
But I kept listening, it's true; General Conference is something I love...
Words from apostles and prophets dear; revelation from God above.
During the broadcast, and newsflash appeared at the bottom of the screen:
DANGEROUS road conditions outside; this much snow in October's OBSCENE!
We learned through phone calls and the likes that roads are being closed...
So perhaps there's a chance we won't go ho
me tonight; at the cabin we might have to doze.
To think that Cameron was worried that something might go wrong!
It's just a little snow, my friend--although it hasn't stopped for long.
But it's okay--it really is! We're all in great company!
In case you didn't hear my OTHER poem, I love you all, don't you see?
Although this lovely GETAWAY might last longer than we thought,
We're having fun and enjoying each other; friendships like this can't be bought!

Happy Fall Celebration...

So my cute friend Callie recently turned 25 again. No, wait...she's still 25. She'll always be 25, actually. (Callie doesn't have birthdays is what I'm trying to say. She simply celebrates the fall). So tonight a group of us got together for dinner at the Snakebite and then went to Callie's for cake and presents. It was a good time. (I needed my day to end with a party, because the majority of my day was crummy enough it's best not to dwell on it). Callie got some cute stuff to ring in the new season. Really, she got some fun autumn stuff! And, of course, I wrote her a poem. :) And then Cameron and Jason performed a song just for her. It was pretty terrific. You can watch and listen and tell me what you think!

She got to drink out of a Bud Light tumbler...
I'm pretty sure it was just ice water, though.

It was a pretty fun night all-around! Happy Fall, Callie!
