I ponder the concept of TIMING quite a bit. More than the average Joe, I daresay. It's not like I'm stuck on the topic on some unhealthy level or anything...it just sometimes pops into my head. Usually when I'm driving.
Because I hit red lights. All the time.
Now when I say "all the time" I'm not being literal. I sometimes hit green lights.

But mostly I hit red lights. We're talking somewhere between 80 and 90% of the time. (I haven't done the math, but it sure feels closer to 90%.) If you don't believe me, feel free to ask my roommates...or anyone who's ever been a passenger in my car.
So...yeah...sitting at so many stop lights kind of gets me thinking a lot about timing.
Quite naturally (here is where that extra X chromosome kicks in), I've analyzed timing from many angles.
Like, my timing for TRAFFIC LIGHTS sure does suck, so I wonder, how OFF is my timing in other aspects of my life? (I really don't feel like this holds true for my life; I feel like I've been in the right place at the right time throughout my life...minus traffic, of course.)
The other day, a brand new idea came to mind...
What is it that you are forced to do while sitting at a stop light? Each person may do his or her own thing...re-applying makeup, picking your nose/face, sending a text, adjusting the radio; no need to feel ashamed or embarrassed...we've all seen all sorts of things going on in "other people's" cars. Whatever. The thing I'm getting at is WAITING. While sitting at a stop light, you are forced to wait.
I've done a lot of waiting in my life--even if you get rid of all the stop-light waiting (which must account for some 50% of my wait time), I've spent much of my life waiting.
Waiting at the doctor's office. Waiting for dinner to be ready. Waiting for clients to show. Waiting in line at the grocery store. Waiting for Mr. Wonderful. Waiting for the weekend.

Wait, wait, wait, WAIT, WAIT.
Now I'm not whining, mind you. Just pondering.
A few months ago I came across a Calvin & Hobbes comic strip that made me stop and think...
"Sometimes it seems things go by too quickly. We are so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take the time to enjoy where we are." -Calvin (aka Bill Watterson)
So true, little Calvin. So true.
As tired as I sometimes get of waiting, I might as well stop and enjoy the moments as they happen. I try to do that anyway, but it's kind of all coming together for me just now...

I completely agree with this post! I also feel that I am always waiting for certain things and everything in life is about timing and then you wonder how you know if it is the right time for certain things and that sometimes seems tougher than the actual waiting part.
