the past 5.5 months went like this

TOMMY: got croup during spring break; will not be sleep-trained or scheduled, thank you very much; army crawls very much like a lizard, and at lightning speed; is a wee small fellow, but loves to eat; likes to feed himself, except when it comes to bottles, sippy cups, and otter pops; hates teething, which makes Mom + Dad hate teething, too; loves Cheerios and will shovel them in his mouth by the fistful; teased his Momma by sleeping through the night for an entire month starting in May + has only given her a full night's rest a handful of times since; loves tub time + hates being diapered/dressed in equal measure; mimics sounds and gestures quite well; loves big kids and attention; is a sucker for flattery, especially when doled out by a female; loves swimming, and doesn't even mind cold-ish water; Grandpa O. just might be his favorite human; makes us tireder + happier than we've ever been.

ANDY: has been working on his photography in earnest; took us camping a few times + did most of the work of setting up and taking down by himself while Mom took care of Tom.

GINA: loved having the summer off to hang out with Tommy full-time; going back to work a few weeks ago may have been harder than going back after maternity leave; is equal parts exhausted from and delighted with motherhood.

And now, a million photos from the past several months...

the nap at Bear Lake had to happen in the car,
because Tommy got too distracted by the water to sleep at the lake

so grateful Aunt Mary caught this smile on camera!

Cheerios face!

I hope to be lots better at posting more often; this little squirt requires time and attention, but I want to document  his life on here better than I've been doing.
