Guess what I did last night...

So I've been home this weekend, having a great time chillin' with the family. So nice. Well last night, Vance got a phone call from his buddy, Chris, who had tickets to see the Peking Acrobats in SLC, but he and his wife and child are sick so they couldn't make it. "Do you want the tickets?" Chris asked. Well, Vance didn't want the tickets, but Abby did, so we grabbed the tickets from Chris and we were on our merry way.

We left Brigham City about 40 minutes before the show was to start...plus, Abby and I weren't quite sure where Kingsbury Hall was. (We found it without too much difficulty, don't worry). Needless to say, we were late. We got there in enough time to see a couple of pretty neat performances, and then it was intermission. BLAST! And then Abby had to be back by 11:00 to do the night audit at the Crystal Inn, so we had to leave early.

But what we saw was really cool; I'm pretty sure that they defy the laws of physics somehow. And also, human beings shouldn't be quite so bendy. I didn't take pictures ("No flash photography, please"), so I found what I could online. (Thank you, google images.)

Here's some of what we saw...

Here we have a very bendy girl.
We saw this, but there was a guy with her moving her around.
Also, she had a ceramic pot on her head.
It was crazy cool!

This was pretty cool too.

Then we got to see these people climb up these poles
like human spiders, and then they jumped back and forth
and did all sorts of crazy things.
UNBELIEVABLE!

These same fellas hung on the poles
and additional people were hanging off of them...
Abby and I were amazed!

My favorite part is something I couldn't find a picture of, and I'd really need a video of it to capture the awesomeness of it all anyway...this petite woman balanced a pot on her feet and flipped it round and round, etc. (She was lying down). Abby and I were pretty amazed by it. Then her helper-girls took the pot away and placed a rather large square wooden table on her feet, and she spun that one around and around. I said to Abby, "surely, she won't spin it the other way (end-over-end rather than flat side against her feet). But guess what? She did it! She spun that table any way you can think of! SO INCREDIBLE! My hands were on fire from all the clapping. And, as if that wasn't crazy enough, they brought out a bar, and attached to each end was another petite woman. This cute little acrobat hoisted the little ladies up and then took them for a spin! It was insane! (I bet it was fun for the little swingin' gals).

Anyway...I was sad we had to leave early, but pretty excited I got to see any of it (and for free, too!) The Peking Acrobats really are artists and I can't even believe what they can do with their balance and their bodies!

BRAVO!

Gina, that is cool. I have never seen the Beijing Acobats before. That is fun. What are you talking about. I look at the things you do with your friend like that snow cave, and I am jealous. The girl I meet on the Shuttle is Lisa H. My life may have brought me to several different countries, but I haven't done something that crazy in a long time! I miss you!
