May is over...but the memories live on!

Busy busy times have been upon me. Most of it entails packing up and moving across town. Which is NOT my favorite thing to do at all. However, the deed is done and I love the new place! I'm a bit further away from work here in IF, but it takes about the same amount of time because I only have to deal with 2 stop lights now, whereas before I hit 8. Or so. (And, in case you were unaware, I have horrible luck with stop lights; they always turn red just before I approach the stop line.) Honestly...less stop lights=one happy Gina.

What else do I need to blog about? Oh yeah, I'm 26 now. That was a rather fun celebration. Then Memorial Day weekend I went up to Island Park and hiked to an abandoned water tower. PS It was snowy up there anyway, and then it rained, so it ended up being one wet hike. Ick. Hmm...what else? Moving out of the apartment and into the townhouse...pretty sure I already mentioned that. Unpacking....more unpacking. Oh yeah, we went to Mesa Falls this past Saturday, and the weather was divine! A perfect day, really! I didn't get a ton of pictures of anything these past few weeks, but it doesn't mean that none of it happened.

GINA TURNS 26...
A shout-out to myself!
May 22, 2008

We went to dinner at a tasty Mexican place called Puerto Vallarta.
"We" includes myself and 23 other people.
Man, I felt the love!!!

Chris, me and Callie on my birthday (at the old place)

Here we have Matt shoving chips and salsa in my mouth.
The chip was loaded with salsa. It burned my tongue.
Happy birthday to me...

26 candles on a chocolate bundt cake set the room aglow, I must say.
See all that smoke from when I blew out the aforementioned candles?

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND IN ISLAND PARK...
(cold and wet!)
Me, Lisa and Sergio actually only went May 23-24.
Then we came home and packed (which I already posted).

Here's a portion of our hike to the water tower...
My voice was a bit off for about a week (which started a couple of days before my bday!);
me thinks it was allergies. Bleh...

The water tower itself...
I'm a bit afraid of heights, and climbing this wet tower did nothing for my nerves...

The foggy view from atop the water tower...

On the hike back down, Lisa noticed a picnic table
stranded in the middle of an almost-lake...
(By this point our shoes were already soaked, so we just walked out to the table)

Posing...

MESA FALLS
May 31st; what a perfect day and a loverly little hike!
Not too hot, not too cold...and in good company!

Lower Mesa Falls
Look at the brownishness of the water because of spring run-off...

Me and Brookey relaxing near Lower Mesa...

Mistiness from the falls (Lower Mesa, once again)...

Look at those blue skies!

I told you it was a perfect day...

And here's one of Upper Mesa Falls...
Do you like the snow? We called it a "glacier"...

I guess this is all for now...

OH WAIT! I want to wish my folks a Happy Anniversary! They've been married for 30 years today! Here's to you, Ma and Pa!

Your hike to the falls looks absolutely beautiful! Glad you had a good time. I did the tag BTW. I like to think those things over for a bit. Who am I kidding...I think everything over for a bit. Then I just decided to sit down, and do it. Now I know why I think them over..;)
