I totally need to update. I know this. I've got lots of pictures of lots of stuff I've been up to, and I'm just not giving myself time to blog about them.
"Let me 'splain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up." (Oh, I love that movie! Also, that whole "let me sum up" thing was totally bogus; this will be a wordy post. The pictures will come at another time.)
*I LOVE WATER
Who knew? I mean, I've never really minded swimming and stuff, but...this summer I've been able to spend a lot of time outside near water. And it's been fun! A group of us went to Fall Creek (as tradition demands). I went boating for the first time a couple of weeks ago, which is kind of fantastic (thanks, Todd!). I played on a slip n slide for the first time in years and years (and years), and I had more fun than I maybe ought to admit. I've gone swimming a couple of times, and this past Saturday I went tubing down "a raging river of death." (Not really, but can you name that movie?)
Jami and I are going to Heise water park tomorrow, which is exciting unto me.
Next week, I'm going to a water park in my hometown with a couple of my sisters-in-law and their children; I might be more excited than the children are...
*SOFTBALL
A handful of our games were cancelled due to inclement weather (thank you, South-East Idaho). Technically, the season is over but for our make-up games; even then, we only have one game left.
Mostly, we've won quite comfortably.
Until last night.
Last night, we almost lost! We were home (fortunately!) and down by two in the last inning. We got our stuff together and held them. Then we were up to bat. We got a couple of outs, then Jeff hit a good one and ran like a banshee (do they run really fast? Why did that come to my mind?) and landed himself on third base. Then Brookie hit a single, and got Jeff home. Then Todd was up, and he hit a stupendous home run, at which point, they called the game. I guess I've become accustomed to winning, because I got really nervous last night, being on the losing side of things! Anyway...win or lose, we've got a good team; We've scored 200 runs, and we've had 66 runs scored against us.
Our last game is Monday. And then the tournament begins.
I love softball...
*HARRY POTTER (spoiler alert?)
I went to see HP 7.2 last Saturday, and I totally loved it. I think it's probably the best movie out of the lot of 'em. Feel free to disagree, but I stand by my claim, and here's why: I love Snape, and I kind of like to cry during movies. 7.2 proved what I knew all along--that Snape wasn't really on Voldemort's side; that he truly had a heart, and it belonged to Lily (like I called it when I first read book one). Also, it made me cry. I tried not to cry, as I was surrounded by a theater full of strangers, but there were a few times my vision blurred--most specifically when Harry saw Snape's memories, and also when Harry was walking to the forest and his parents and Sirius and Lupin showed up. (Oh, I could hardly see the fatty screen for the tears in my eyes! Totally felt justified and less of a wanny when I heard lots of sniffles throughout the entire theater...)
I'm going to see it again next weekend with my folks, I do believe.
Also, I feel like it's time to read those books again. Because the books are ALWAYS better than the movies...
*OTHER STUFF
I love summertime. And I'm going to catch up on here if it kills me...

Snape is the best. that is all I have to contribute. I hope I can see the movie with y'all next week. it largely depends on my work schedule
Gina, I totally agree, Snape is the best! And don't worry big fat tears fell from my eyes when I watched the movie too!
Yay for ALL of this. EVERY. LAST. PART. + more. I'm sure we could "yay" for a few more things, too. But you've got a good start. This summer has been pretty stupendous, hasn't it? I'm so glad I've been a part of 99.9% of this. I've said it before and I'm gonna say it again: You make me happy. Oh yeah. And I'm also gonna say I still love Bellatrix.
I haven't had a chance to see the movie yet, but my kids loved it! I guess it's just my old bifocals, but I'm having a hard time reading the green font.
Sandy
Firstly, I am super excited to go swimming next week! YAY!
Secondly, I miss playing softball and I am jealous (and I think the phrase would be "flew like a banshee"
Thirdly, I cried A LOT in HP 7.2 for the same reasons and probably at the same parts.
Fourthly, I would like to see it with you again too... if it can't happen. I'll be okay.
