As we were packing and getting stuff together for our trip, I reminded Jami to double check her luggage for knives, because...
BECAUSE: last June when we went to NYC with a few friends, Jami got pulled aside at security. TSA told Jami they had found a pocket knife in her bag; they told her to step away from her bag, and questioned why she even had it. I stood back and laughed (in a concerned way, of course). It turned out okay, though! Jami mailed it home (the pocket knife had been a gift from her dad), and we went on our merry way, and made our mark 0n New York City.
Fast forward to this morning...
As Jami and I lined up at the security checkpoint, Jami told me she made sure her bags were knife-free, thank you very much.
I told her I'd laugh if TSA found something else wrong, and pull her aside again. She told me that it was MY turn to be pulled aside.
Jami was ahead of me and made it throughout without a hitch. And I was happy for her!
When I stepped through the x-ray thing, the computer screen lit up, and I landed myself a pat-down, compliments of TSA. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but the gal was nice enough about it.
After my pat-down, they had to check my hands...they rubbed something over my palms (?) when I looked up and saw Jami, with a look of utter joy on her face, taking pictures with her phone. She was laughing pretty hard, was delighted at my predicament, and was only sorry that she couldn't get her to her phone in time to get a picture of my pat-down. (That's how I know she's a true friend--because she was more bummed out about the missed photo-op than she was that I had my very own special experience with TSA. I love that girl!)

Maybe we'll both walk away unscathed by TSA next trip?!

You're cute! I'm glad Jami took pictures! Enjoy your vacation!!!
When The Hubs and I were doing long distance I was traveling A LOT and I got picked for the special treatment about every 3 times I flew. Once they rubbed every single thing in my carry on with something and tested it in a machine for explosives! Clearly, I look like an expert bomb maker.
Gotta love the TSA pat down. I had that happen when I was traveling with Ellie. They had to pat down me and Ellie. It was awesome!! Good luck on your way home!
lol...awesome..
enjoy the sunshine!!
