ob la di, ob la da (life goes on)

It's no secret that I'm not doing terrific with the blogging thing so far this year. For some reason, I'm feeling...a lack of imagination, perchance?

February has been a good month. And we know how shocked I was to discover that January ended up being kind of lovely. (Utterly. Shocked.)

But still...I've been itching to get the heck out of dodge for months now. (I need a vacation!) And the current weather situation outside (cold and snowy with slick, icy roads) has somewhat intensified my need to vacate my everyday life. Just for a few days.

I kind of love my life, but let's be honest: winter is what it is, and I feel trapped (mostly because I don't love being outdoorsy in the wintertime. It just ain't my thang). Mostly what I've been up to is a lot of...reading. I'm currently reading The Maze Runner series--which I totally didn't know it even was a series until after I got the first book for Christmas. (My thoughts? Without giving too much away, let me just say that I thought "Maze Runner" was okay: well-written, but nothing to fall in love with; "Scorch Trials" I liked even less, because it just felt like...there wasn't much of a plot--more like one horrible thing after another happening to Thomas. And also, I'm terrified of the Cranks. Ugh. It took me a full two weeks to get through book two. As for "Death Cure," I'm just drinking this one right up; finally feeling like I'm getting some answers! FINALLY!)

So maybe I'm not blogging much because of the lack of imagination, and also because my life is kind of dull at the moment.

I'm still doing the photo-a-day thing on Instagram, which has been a bit of a creative outlet for my otherwise...predictable life.

Here are some of the pictures I've taken:

"hands"
(
"strangers" (felt like a horrible creep taking this picture!)

)(
"self portrait" (taken just before Barbara's funeral)
"blue" (fortunately we had blue skies in I.F. that day!)
"time" (i love my swatch!)
"sun" (this was my sky the entire day)
"heart" (i love utah!)
Anyway...I'm excited for this weekend, because I'm headed to warmer weather with Jami. We fly out of SLC at something like 6:10 on Thursday morning. We're heading to Southern California where we will shop and visit Disney and Universal, and we will eat tasty food...and it will be the break from reality that I've needed!

In other news, Vance and Abby recently found out they're going to have another girl! YAY!

Aaaand I'll sign off here, because I'm not quite finished packing (and we leave for Utah right after work tomorrow!). But first...two more pictures:

Super Baby!
I hung out with Aaron, Amy & boys the first weekend of February.
Emmett loved "flying," as you can plainly see on that gorgeous, chubby face of his...
When I went home for Barbara's funeral, I got to play with these cute chilluns.

Cheers!

If you want inspiration...?

Last Summer, as a prize, I spent some time researching you and then wrote a piece of fiction called 'The Ginabean' all about you.
Well not actually about YOU - but you know what I mean - it was a fictionalised you.
Anyway - I challenge you to do the same. Let's see "Glen - the story" or pick another muse and write a personal but completely fictisious account of their life instead. It's harder than you expect!
