in the meantime...

Hey, all. I've been keeping myself busy, when time permits, on my dining room set. (I bought one I found through Craigslist, but Jami and JR went with me. For protection. And also, JR has a truck.) 

Jami is ridiculously talented at almost every single thing in the world, including but not limited to domestic things. (Cooking, baking, sewing, general-crafting, etc.). One thing she's completely rad at is refinishing furniture. So she's been helping me turn my newly purchased dining room set into something from a dream. And it's been fun!

I've been wanting to blog about it, but not until it's completely finished, you know? We're making progress, and I've put a few pictures on Instagram, for those who've wanted to see progress. But I'm not going to show the before and after on here until it's done and sitting in my dining room.

So. In the meantime...here are a few things I've been up to: *

*Hint: not much

I made a creamy chicken and garden soup that lasted me for days. It was delicious.

I discovered a Ziplock bagful of these little gems (from last February, I'm guessing) at work...

...only to be bummed to remember they're hugs and not kisses.
I'm not crazy about white chocolate, you see.

I celebrated Chinese New Year with my friend Katie and her family
and was totally  happy with the fortune from my cookie!

Found out I've got a wonky thumbnail problem.
More on that later. Maybe.

I've learned a LOT while refinishing my table.
For example: primer doesn't easily wash off human skin.

I may or may not have finished watching season four of Downton Abbey
within a few days. (I totally did. And I loved it.)

I'm going to do some more work on the table tomorrow evening with Jami. I think we've only got two more sessions left until we're completely done. Woohoo!

Also, I'm heading to Brigham City this weekend to chillax with my family. Just for fun, and because I miss them. I can hardly wait...
