licketysplit...

I went to Utah real quick on Friday with my roommate Lisa. Just there and back in one day. Perhaps we're gluttons for punishment, but this is where we went:

Recreational Equipment Inc.
The one in Sandy.

And this is why we went:

I have this thing with packs...
I have all the packs I need, but I still LOVE to look!

Look at all those shoes!
I developed a shoe thang after grad school...

I actually was SO GOOD and didn't buy anything. I don't need anything from that store just yet. That's not to say I didn't want to buy anything. On the contrary, I found a handful of things I'd like to add to my stash of outdoorsy stuff. Alas...I practiced self-control. It was hard, but I did it!

We stopped off in Centerville to visit Lisa's grandma along the way; it was a quick visit, but dang, that lady is the epitome of everything grandmother! She's just so cute...

Aaaand on the way back we stopped in Brigham to rest. And also to make din-din for my family (Mom, Dad, Brent, Vance and Abby). I concentrated on twice-baked potatoes while Lisa made wiener schnitzel. (Schnitzel is uber yummy!)

Abby and her baby bump--roughly 18.5 weeks.
(She's growing a little girl in there!)

Shortly after dinner, we were heading north once again. It was a quick trip, but it felt good to be back in Utah, even if only for a few hours.

Yay for REI! Dang, crazy girls road trip! Why'd you come back so fast? It wasn't to see ME, that's for sure! So, you have all things backpack? I might need to borrow something if I come packing with you guys this summer!!

That is fun being able to jump State borders. If I travel for 400 miles, I'm still in Alaska, not even a full percentage of the State either.

I like Abby's baby pooch. I haven't seen her in over a month.

I want to check out that store, it seems snazzy! It can also count for food storage, since you need that kind of stuff in an accident.
