Because 2009 is a year of bravery for trying "new" foods, pears are one of the first foods I put on my list.
Okay, not first, but not last either...Anyhoo, Lisa's grandparents have some pear trees, and she shared a fresh Utah pear with me tonight. I was apprehensive, but I put on a brave face and tried a wee slice...
A very wee slice...
A very wee slice...And guess what? I like fresh pears. I really like 'em. So there's one more food I can check off the list. And another fruit I can add to the rather small list of fruits that I like! Sweet!
Also, I seem to like watches. Somehow I keep collecting them...
Blue face: WalMart special about 8 years ago...
Swiss Army: A college friend was gonna DI this like 5 years ago; I couldn't let that happen...
Beaded: Newest to the collection. I LOVE IT. (Thanks Mama!)
Fossil: I got this one on sale about 2 years ago...
Pink face: High school graduation gift from my younger brothers. It still works :)

I also LOVE bracelets. This is funny, because even a few years ago, I didn't like 'em at all. I couldn't understand the idea of decorating one's wrists.
Things have changed. Drastically.

Pink leather: Bought from a Peruvian fella at Huntington Beach...
Cream braided: Found this one at the mall somewhere...
Cute multi-colored O-rings: From Brooke, who found it at the IF Artisans Market...
Green/Brown beaded: Bought this my last day of grad school from a professor's daughter...
Black Kua Nuts: Got this puppy from Chris when she went to Hawaii last summer...
Yellow/Green beads: I bought this to help refugees from Uganda. Cute!
Brown wooden beads: Only a few months old. I found it at the Quilted Bear in O-town..
Blue/White: I made this my last day of grad school...
Plus I have another (really cute!) bracelet that Brooke brought me back from Australia. I'll show it to y'all sometime. :)
I'll post about my awesome weekend in Zion (aka Utah) one day soon...

I'm very happy you like fresh pears. They are so good when they are perfectly ripe! Mmmmm...as for the watches, you now have ENOUGH!
I'll say it's a small list. What does this make, like two fruits you like? Oh yeah, plus grilled pineapple. "Like, oh my gosh, that grilled pineapple, is, like... sooooooooooooo... what's the word I'm looking for? Good. Grilled pineapple is good. And everyone should try it, or I shall call them small-minded circus folk, even though there are half a million foods that I am WAY too good for".
cute watches!! Do you think your mom might show me how to make some... I have been looking at them but haven't figured all of it out yet! Hope all is well with you!
I love your new beaded watch! Glad you like pears they are my favorite!
That's funny I feel the exact same about canned vs. fresh. They get a weird texture or something in a can... :)
Lisa shared her peaches with me too....I've already eaten 3. Yummo!
I'm glad you've found you like them too.
I like you. You're funny. And here's to more fresh pears!! YUM!
I stopped by and read.
I was the same was, Gina. Until a few months ago. And I had a really really good pear! Now I like them-if they're crunchy...not mushy (and I don't like ANY canned fruit. Talk about gross).
Hahaha!! That is so funny!! Did I see SHARK on your list?? What the heck?? That is kinda random...
see now I totally don't understand that bout you Gina, I can't understand that anyone wouldn't like fresh fruit, buy you! you grew up in Brigham city for crying out loud, magical fresh fruit byway. But I love you. And I am so thrilled that you are learning to appreciate something so wonderful as fruit. Also the watches and bracelets thing is nice to know.

When you go to cross off Indian food off your list I expect to be with you-- taking to the best Indian food restaurant I have found.
