Reminisce THIS...

I was unofficially tagged by a friend...here goes!

20 Years Ago Today:

The year was 1988 and...
1. I was 6 years old and had just started the 1st grade at Central Elementary School in Brigham City (which no longer exists, by the by). My teacher was Miss Morrell and I liked school.
2. I spent my days between school, home, and Mandy's house. (Mandy was my best friend and my next door neighbor. How lucky was I?!)
3. I'm sure it was about this time that I came up with the idea to dress up my younger brothers in my extra leotards...maybe that was only 19 years ago though; Brent would've only been like 8 or9 months old at this point in time...
4. I think it was also right around this time that New Kids on the Block were totally...ah...hip. And I loved them. (Back then, I mean.) I also really enjoyed playing with my Barbie dolls, Cabbage Patch kids, my brothers' GI Joes, and watching such classic shows as MacGyver, Perfect Strangers and A.L.F. (Side note: isn't it kinda sad for the New Kids on the Block that the "people" who loved their music were actually children? Curious...)

10 Years Ago Today:
It was 1998...the 21st century was well on its way and...
1. I was 16. Hot DANG, I had recently gotten my drivers license and experienced a bad date (already--so early on in the game!). I had just started my junior year at Box Elder High School (Go Bees!) and was taking things as they came.
2. I think it was about this time that I applied to work at Taco Time and I got the job! It really wasn't a bad job, and it was the first one I had ever applied for, so...hey, that's cool. (I've never enjoyed job-hunting, see. Although back then I never knew how awful it could be.)
3. Umm...I was best friends with Heather Hurd, goofing off and being not mature. :)

5 Years Ago Today:
Mm-kay it was 2003; Y2K came and went without a glitch and...
1. I had transferred from BYU-Idaho to Utah State University the year before and was thinking about where to apply for grad school. (Holy crow, I was a senior in college 5 years ago!)
2. As a full-fledged USU student (but not a "true Aggie" just fyi) I was living in Logan. My roommates were 3 gals I knew from high school-Charity Allen, Jamie Miles and Julia Munns. Oh, those were the days...
3. I worked at the Hub food court. By this point in time, I was done actually touching and working with the food as I had been "promoted" to work as a cashier...
4-It was at this time that I had become good friends with Carrie Delgado. She was my next-door neighbor at Forest Gate and she sure helped some of the slower days pass by much more quickly! I also hung out with Bryan, Bryan and Andy a lot that year. Good times ensued...

3 Years Ago Today:
'Twas 2005 and...
1. I had finished up my first year of grad school and was starting the "downhill slide." (For the record, fall 2005 was the worst semester in the history of man. Well, at least in my own life, it was the semester from hell.)
2. Jamie had just gotten married, and I ventured to live in a place I called The Curry Palace. I lived in the upstairs of an old home with an Indian girl who was never there when I was, but I knew she lived there because it smelled like Indian food. Curry, if you will...
3. I had recently taken a job at the Crystal Inn in Logan and the first two weeks of school they had me working 40-hours/week. (Way to start the school year off with a bang, hey?!)

1 Year Ago Today:
2007, baby...the Year of Scotland! 365 days ago...
1. I was in Scotland! Carrie and I had thoroughly enjoyed London by this time and we were getting to know Scottish life in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. We drank it all up and enjoyed ourselves immensely! (I could go on FOREVER about this trip, so I'll end this segment right here...)
2. I had recently turned 25; I had been dreading it clear up until the day it happened. It ended up being, like, the best year of my life. (So far.)
3. I had been in Idaho Falls for just over a year and I was loving life!
4. Family: Dad had been bishop for about a year and a half (I think?), Mom was heading back to teach her all-day Kindergarten class, Aaron and Amy were in Farmington and had just added Seth to the family (Jackson was 3), Vance and Abby had celebrated 2 years of marriage, Goose had been home from his mission for a year and he was already done with school (jealousy!), and Brent had been on his mission for 6 or 7 months.

So far this year:
2008...a recap...not necessarily in order...
1. I took up skiing and liked it. Then I twisted my knee (no permanent damage done) and gave it up. (Sorry "Jameron!")
2. I moved. I thought, after I moved into my last apartment and the wonderful world known as the Idaho Falls 1st branch, that I wouldn't move until either I bought a house or until got married. I was wrong, eh? (So much for my iron will...) It's been a good change though.
3. I had another birthday. And I realized I just really like birthdays. They're fun. Life just seems to get better with age!
4. It's the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, and although I love the summer Olympics, I haven't been able to watch anything besides a few of the swimming and female gymnastics events...
5. I've born my testimony at church every Fast Sunday so far. I think I'll try to keep this one up...

Yesterday...
1. I had a fair day at work.
2. I got a new cell phone. Not really a big deal, but it is at the same time because my old one was giving me such grief!
3. I went to the Temple with my branch and the Foothills branch. Baptisms. It had been a while and I'm glad I went!
4. I was invited to attend two different "Girls Night" parties for Friday. (How popular am I?!)

Today...
1. I had a fair day at work.
2. I am planning to visiting my prior branch pres and his lovely wifey with my roommates.
3. I am so grateful for my extra long weekend directly ahead of me!!!

Tomorrow...
1. I will mow the lawn and clean up a bit around the house.
2. I will get some stuff in the mail that really needs to be on its way to somewhere else...
3. I will chill with Jamie and Brooke and have a delightful Girls Night!

Next year...
1. I have no idea...
2. Que' sera' sera'...(I can't figure out how to do the accents, mm-kay?)
