Back before I could drive, I used to love the car ride at Lagoon. You know, the one where you drive around the track and...that's about it? I can't remember the name of that ride for the life of me...something about raceway? Anyway, there really wasn't much to it; each person in his own individual car, "driving" (somewhat slowly, as I recall) around a track--a track you were stuck on. You couldn't get off the track if you tried. I'm quite certain you didn't really have to even steer.
Why did I love that ride so much? Was my imagination so great that I pictured an adult version of me, driving myself to some amazing destination like...Lagoon?
Probably so...
Anyway, there is a point to this post.
Here it comes...
Driving anywhere within my neighborhood, I feel like I'm back on the driving tracks at Lagoon. The city of Ammon ain't keen on plowing our roads, and there are grooves cut into the snow/ice from car tires.
I don't love it.
True, I have actual control of my real-life car; I can pull out of the tracks if I so choose. But if I do that, I actually am afraid of LOSING control of my car, careening over the bumpy ice and crashing into a mailbox or a parked car or something.
I'm really looking forward to Spring...

So, I kind of don't like that your blog is private because the updates don't appear automatically. I'm lazy. I like to be told when to read a new post. Can you email me personally when you post something new? Because now I just discovered that I've missed a whole slough of Gina posts that I could have been enjoying throughout the last several days ... weeks ... whenever.
I hear ya on the racetrack thing. To turn from the road into my parent's driveway takes great effort and much jolting.
As I was driving Megan home one evening I said a very similar thing; it IS just like those tracks at amusement parks! What's wrong with frequent plowing? A friend at work fell in the slush this morning because the parking lot wasn't plowed. I tell ya, winter time is dangerous. :)
I miss plowed roads too, what is it with this crazy town!!
Ruts stink.
Idaho roads are the WORST! Since when does sprinkling red dirt everywhere replace frequent plowing and salting of the roads?
I am the same with Brooke, I miss out on your blog, since Google reader does not tell me when you post! Spring does sound nice!
