misc...

We've had strange weather this February. I swear it's felt like (early) spring nearly half the time.

But then, after a beautiful and sun-shiny day, we get hit with cold winter winds and snow.

Whatever. It's winter in south-east Idaho. Expect the unexpected...

Anyway, we've got pretty crazy-looking icicles on our back porch handrail. See for yourself...

cuh-razy

...not to mention dangerous?

And...I did something when I went home for Brent's homecoming. An act of service for my mother, more than anything. It may not be a big deal for most of you people, but it was major for me.

Look what I made:

That recipes says "Karin's Banana Bread"
and those are very ripe bananas by the bowl.

YES! I made banana bread! All by myself! It was disgusting, and I may have gagged once or twice during the process...

Peeling the over-ripe, smelly, squishy fruit...

About to throw all the stinky peels away...

Adding the smooshed bananas.

I still can't make myself eat them. But...baby steps.

I really must love my momma SO MUCH.

Oh wait...I do!

Cold, cold, hard blowing wind makes those kinds of icicles! Wow! Don't YOU go out and stand on the handrail 'cause we don't want that happening to YOU! By the way, the banana bread was totally worth your misery! Mmmmmmmm! (Thanks, If I didn't tell you that already.) Love you, MOM

Ahh you had the beautiful ice ballet going on. What a wonderful show.

Banana bread - if they are walnut free I'm all over it. If not - I'll join you watching everyone enjoy it.

You and my dad are totally related. He HATES anything to do with bananas. He had to have banana flavored medicine up until his was five and has never liked bananas since. (I just learned that this past week...)

So .. those icicles aren't even vertical!! How the crack? I mean, I live like a mile away from you, and I don't understand how you got those. Really. I'm impressed with the banana bread. I also find it hilarious that Pres. Welker made a banana split joke. The joke wasn't even funny, just the fact that he made one was entertaining to me. That's for the completion of joy tonight. Ding! Fries are done! :)

I was never a fan of banana bread really until I found a whole wheat recipe and added chocolate chips. TADA edible even crave-able. I would even venture to say that even you could swallow it. :) You crack me up.

ps if you are been wanting a new header for your blog request away. I love you that much.
