Sink or Swim...

I've spent more time in/around water this summer than any other summer I can remember. And I've totally loved it!

Sometime last month (yeah, yeah, I'm way behind on blogging, tell me something I don't know), I went with my singles branch to float the river at Lava, and it was dang fun!

Our first run (wherein I fell in,
banged my head on a rock, and scraped
the heck out of my thumb).

Beth, Gina, Jill

The "raging river of death!"

*please don't die, please don't die, please don't die*

Me and my new friend Ian

Here we have Carl nearing the scariest point in the river.

Here we see Carl falling into the scariest part of the river.

Hiya, Jami!

Getting out: this proved to be somewhat scary
because I could ne
ver get over to the right side of the river
and I had to travail across the deep part in the middle...

LUNCHTIME!
Brooker, Gina, Jami, Brookie, Kylee

Superman-ing it...

There were a few injuries sustained on the river, including:

Dave's knee got sliced a bit.
(Totally needed stitches afterward)

Jeff's back got scraped up

LinkAnd my thumb took a beating.

I've floated the river in Lava a handful of times, and I always seem to forget how dang much fun it is. Every single time, I forget!

Thanks to Brooker and Keri for sharing their pictures!

perhaps next time you should wear a full body kevlar suit...then you wouldn't have to share gory pictures with the rest of us

I don't remember willingly "sharing" these pictures, but I DID think that some of them looked familiar! You're welcome, ya thief!
Man, I love thieves. ;)

I am totally coming to visit you in Idaho and floating on that river! It looks like so much fun bestgoodtimeever!

I'm adding this to my list of reasons to move to Idaho. The Hubs is loving my lists so far.

I have only floated this river once, but I think I might still have the scars on my back to prove it. You gotta be careful on this one....

I always think going down rivers look way awesome... which that is still true, I feel that after viewing all that blood I'm now a little terrified. You are so impressive.
